Hello everyone,
My new newsletter will be going out in a day or so. I just added a bunch of new products on my site www.rawlife.com and I will be back to blogging soon. I pray every one is having a great raw life.
Still eating no sweet fruit, nothing at night and feeling great.

My trip and The No Dinner Diet
Hello everyone,
I am back home after my long road trip that was very successful. I spoke in California, Seattle, Vancouver and Courtney, Canada. I had no issues with sticking to my eating plan. The key was planning well ahead. I did my best to not eat after 3 P.M. I guess I did slip up, because one day I was in a meeting that was supposed to get out at 1:30 but lasted to 2:30 and I didn’t get to eat until 3 PM. So I finished that meal about 4PM. That was the latest I have eaten in 3 months. Only 1 hour off, but I have to be careful. Only one hour can quickly turn into only 1 ½ hours and so on. I had to make a decision. I could have skipped the meal and often would have, but I was not 100% sure if I was going to get to have my morning meal because I had to be at the airport the next morning at 4am and on the plane at 6am. So to play it safe, I made sure I would be somewhat full in case I missed that next meal.
I’m glad I decided to eat because I met my good friend and raw food author Matt Monarch at a raw food cafĂ© in Los Angeles. Of all the food on the menu, I had a basic salad and it was refreshing. I told Matt about the “No Dinner Diet” (NDD) and he said he would give it a try. After a week here is his reply.
“I have been experimenting with not eating after 2PM and I love it. I also try to eat my first meal around 9 or 10. I plan on eating like this forever more. I won’t kill myself if I eat at 3, but I don’t plan eating later than this ever again. It’s amazing!!! I have been detoxing from this new way. I’ll catch up with it. Thanks for this.”
I’m getting many more great reports and my book is coming along. Here is another recent email I received from a blog at http://blog.rawgenesis.com. This person who wrote this blog came to hear me speak last week in Vancouver, Canada.
“Today is another wonderful raw food day– an altogether gorgeous July day. Textbook. Praise God!
Just wanted to report that Ed and I are sleeping much better again with this plan where we eat only twice a day– once about 8 am, and again at about 2:00. We are getting over the hump of being hungry after the afternoon meal… I often flash on what Paul Nison said after being asked by three stewardesses on the plane on the way here if he was alright (because he wasn’t eating the food offered), “Man, if you can’t go for seven hours without eating there is indeed something wrong with you.”
Because we are not eating in the evenings (again, according to Paul, the most addictive eating pattern is late-night noshing) we tend to go to bed earlier. We are sleeping better. AND– I LOST 5 POUNDS this week! I’m not ‘counting calories’ — just eating better at specific times and less often.”
So the reports are coming in. If you have tried the NDD and have seen good result, please let me know so I can share it with my readers.
HOW and WHY it WORKS
I would often say in my lectures that there are two things people do everyday that cause poor health and they must be stopped. Over eating and under-sleeping. One often leads to the other because when a person overeats, they require more sleep and there is not enough time to get that much sleep. Add to that, people are staying up late at night watching T.V. and they really are not getting enough sleep. Even if they are tired the, T.V. stimulates them to stay awake. So does the computer. I make it a rule to do my best to turn the computer off by 7 PM every night. That was a hard one for me, and I still struggle. But I notice it takes the body about 3 to 4 hours to overcome the stimulating effects of T.V. and computers. So if you want to get a restfful night’s sleep at 10 or 11 pm, you do the math. Anytime I’m on the computer or watching a movie at night, I can’t seem to fall asleep for at least 3 hours after. My cure has been reading instead of the computer and movies. I find that reading gives the opposite effect as T.V. and computers, and helps us fall asleep. They also say the last thing you read before going to be and first thing you read in the morning are the things you easily remember. I love to read my Bible, so it helps me remember Our Creators comforting words and puts me in peace.
Naturally, people would be too tired to even get up the next day if they were not receiving deep sleep. Most people are missing this because they are doing all the things they shouldn’t be doing. So the only way they can stay awake is to stimulate themselves. People start each day by stimulating themselves with the alarm clock to wake up, coffee or raw chocolate to stay up, T.V. and computers to stay interested; it’s no wonder why people have a hard time falling asleep at night.
Another point to mention is so many people ask me about if they don’t eat so much, how will they get energy. Understand we don’t get as much energy from food as we think. In fact, it takes more energy for the body to digest food and we are receiving less energy. The reason we often feel a burst of energy after eating is that food stimulates us. No matter what we eat, we get stimulation from food. But if you consume food with stimulants, than it makes the effect even more powerful.
This stimulation may seem good, but what price are we paying? After much thinking and prayer about what is going on today with health, I see many people addicted to food. Sugar, caffeine and late night eating are the most addicting for many people. These habits lead to two major problems, 1. Blood Sugar issues and adrenal exhaustion. It is a never-ending cycle because this leads to a major stress on the rest of the body. But on the same hand, it is the stress that leads to over eating and under-sleeping.
To be healthy, we need to support the immune system of the body and not add stress to it. Once we stress our nervous system we start burning nutrients in excess. This will lead to deficiencies, depression and yes, insomnia. Now the door will be open to many other issues.
I will continue to figure out how to help you and be my own guinea pig. I talk about all these things in my new book, but I am sure the best two things everyone can do to start reversing the problem is cut the sugar out of the diet and stop eating late at night.
Have a wonderful day.
